Autism Resource Information

Just about everyone knows someone with Autism so here’s a few links to assist those who need the guidance:

UCF CARD (Center for Autism & Related Disabilities):

  • CARD Mission: CARD seeks to provide support and assistance with the goal of optimizing the potential of people with autism, dual sensory impairment, and related disabilities.
  • MISION  (En Español): CARD busca proveer apoyo y asistencia con la meta de optimizar el potencial de las personas con autismo, impedimentos de dualidad sensorial y condiciones relacionadas.

Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Their longtime friend Bernie Marcus donated $25 million to help financially launch the organization. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We are proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish and look forward to continued successes in the years ahead.

Autism Florida is your first source for Autism information for citizens of Florida. Autism Florida offers simplicity of use and easy navigation to access information about autism quickly.  As a centralized, single entry point for Florida autism information, the website links to existing resources, including information from Florida’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD), state agency websites, the Dan Marino Foundation, and other organizations.  The website was developed by the Florida State University Autism Institute at the request of the Governor’s Task Force on ASD in collaboration with CARD and the Florida Department of Health.

  • CMS (Childrens Medical Services): A collection of programs for eligible children with special needs. Each one of our programs and services are family-centered and designed to help children with a variety of conditions and needs.

ASGO was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteer parents to better assist families of children and adults with autism in the Central Florida area.  The mission or goal of the ASGO is that all individuals within the autism spectrum will be provided a lifetime network of opportunities to become fully accepted, included, and actively participating members of our community, through family support, education, and advocacy, and public awareness.
